Onuma Planning System
Input knowledge, Output BIM
OPS makes the complex simple. The ONUMA Planning System (OPS) provides the ability to exponentially increase the value of your information with easy to use BIM products. The focus of our tools have always been: ease of use, scalability and interoperability. OPS works with Graphisoft ArchiCAD, Autodesk Revit, and other standard business tools. Our tools do not require software installation. Being web-enabled, user friendly and user familiar environments like Internet Explorer (for PC users) and Firefox (for Mac users) let anyone quickly become a BIMmer. Don’t be intimidated by BIM technology. It’s really easier than you think. BIMming isn’t just for the geeks!
How does OPS make BIM simple? OPS analyzes complexity, decomposes it, then we create simple interfaces to allow users to interact easily and quickly with the process. From principals with all the design knowledge, to the recently hired intern, anyone with Excel skills can be a BIMmer!
It takes time to learn new tools, and time is money. So the user interface is designed for everyone on the team to be BIMmers. Principals, with their wealth of knowledge, can interact with the BIM and will actually make the BIM better. The tech team can also use OPS for other applications. Everyone is familiar with Excel. OPS takes Excel files and make them the conversion tool to allow anyone to do BIM.
And when all team members are using BIM, the firm’s BIM becomes knowledge centric and the BIM begins to “learn” and harvest all of the “information” (the “I” part of BIM) for immediate or future use. BIM should NOT be reserved for the BIM department like CAD was 15 years ago. Anyone who can operate a fax machine can contribute to the BIM process.

What you can do with OPS
- Predictive planning very early in the planning stages of a project
- Programming requirements for a project
- Rapid early planning
- Project management
- Management of as-built data for facilities.
- Creates BIM with no BIM training required.
- Manages a single BIM or thousands of BIMs in a relational online database.
- Multi Site, Single Site, Multi Building, Single Building, Floors, Spaces, Furniture & Equipment
- Multi user collaboration on projects.
- Digital rights management and access control to content.
OPS is interoperable and integrates well with other software
- Links to desktop BIM applications such as ArchiCAD and Revit.
- Link to GIS applications such as Google Earth™ and OGC standards based GIS
- Built on open standards such as IFC and OGC.
- No software installation required. Runs on standard internet browsers on PCs and Macs.
- Licensed per year, including all updates.
- Various licensing levels and user levels.
BIM is more relevant when it is integrated with other business processes. The “I” in BIM (Building Information Model) is the most important initial in the acronym. Using information wisely through the life of a building is what will allow the building industry to experience increased productivity gains and get the real payback of true integration.
